School, Schmool.

Current location:  Room at home in San Francisco
Current task: Reading Torts and watching "The Sweetest Thing"
Current mood/feel: @_@ slightly sickly
Current thought: Oh man, how much more of this is there?

Wow, it's been forever...of course, I'm blogging because I needed a distraction.

What's it been like back in school? Interesting, to say the least...law school has not been as horrible as I thought it would be, although I do live in fear of being called on in Contracts. Been called on in every other class and survived it w/ no problem...but Contracts is intense, man! It's at 8:40am 5 days a week and our teacher likes to yell and scream. I mean, I love the guy. He's very knowledgeable, but the yelling (despite it not being from anger but being from passion) is a bit much for 8something in the morning. Yep. Contracts, Torts, Crim Law are my new best friends. Legal Writing, my last class, is actually my shining star so far but that's because we don't really have homework yet and Professor Tanaka is INSANELY HILARIOUS. I mean, seriously. This man spent the first session of class joking around, capping on people (and their dads), etc. Funniest thing was that some of us in class were Facebooking each other about just how funny it all was while it was happening.

You know what else I dig? The fact that most of the cases we're reading are interesting. Thank goodness they are not boring because I don't know how I would survive through all the reading.  I mean, how can you not find the proposition of "if you will come and let me love and pet you, I will fix your clock" not interesting?! :) Ask me about the cannibalism case too It would be mighty geeky, but maybe every once in awhile I'll post up a case I thought was interesting.

As for the social life, I haven't been all that social lately. I think part of the problem is that I didn't GO anywhere so I didn't feel as great of a pressing need to make new friends. It's weird, because I have my "old" life here and my "new" life.  It's not like I feel a need to pick between the two or anything...but it's totally weird how much I've been holding back.  For those who know me, you'd know just how weird it is for me not to be social and get involved in stuff. I really haven't..I haven't even joined a club yet! The people I met are great, and everyone's been super nice I've gone out just a few times, but I'm paranoid about having "too" much fun. Weird, huh? I had really crappy studying habits as an undergrad (which obviously contributed to my not most stellar grades) so I'm trying to do a 180 (haha, not 360, thanks Elyson ) here to make sure I don't screw up. There's wayyyy too much money at stake here!  I've been cracking the whip and studying, but I fall off the bus every once in awhile because of TV ;) ahh, my bane.

I couldn't have asked for a better school to be at in terms of the studying environment, though...if you wanna find me, chances are I'll be in the carrels (desk things) in the stacks. In the law library, the place where they store most of the books is called the stacks. The school has 3 stories, the stack has 6. It's super weird but makes for good hiding areas. I can't study in the main reading room with everyone else because I just get sooo distracted and the quietness there bothers the crap out of me. So, I hide in the stacks and listen to my music and get down with my homies Torts, Contracts, and Crim Law. You know what else is awesome? You can eat at the library! Weeeeee!

As for the home life, things are going pretty well. I think I get along with my parents best when I'm away from them for the most part and just pop my head in every once in awhile...

As for friends, I haven't been seeing too much of them. The whole hermitting thing does, unfortunately, take away from time that can be spent bonding with people instead. Plus, it sure doesn't help that I'm far...yes, obviously, SF is not THAT far but it's hard for me to study on the weekend AND go back. Bleh. Gotta work it out somehow - we'll see how often I make it back to the city. Then again, that's only a partial and honestly crappy excuse because I haven't been seeing friends that are here in Davis either.  I'm lame, what can I say...I really have no great excuse.

Chris is greeeat :) I don't need to say too much more on that topic, I think...

Best way to find me: GMAIL/GCHAT/Facebook. It's pretty much a guaranteed! :) Aiiight, back to school, cuz I'm not a fool...no more distractions, darnit!

There's nothing like a third option that helps you not have to pick between the first two choices... I'm so !*@#($) excited! Thank goodness I only put down one deposit so far too...goodbye Gonzaga, McGeorge, USF, Golden Gate, and Santa Clara...hello Davis for three more years!

Thanks to everyone who gave me advice and had to listen to my stories/complaints/etc...and
thanks, Dad!

Hey peeps! Support AIDS Walk San Francisco! I'll be walking this year on July 15, 2007, and my fundraising goal is $500. Please join me in the battle against AIDS - any contributions would be great.  If you donate online it's a $25 minimum but you can donate any amount in cash or check to me in person as well. OR what you can do is join our team, Hella Norcal (#7143) and walk with my friends and me.  Visit my donation page for more info. Thanks, everyone! :D

In recent news, I just found out I got into USF...now comes the question of what the heck am I gonna do?!?!?
*Go to McGeorge, live on my own still, and take out mad loans (TOTALLY got sticker shock the other day, their budget is $54,000...and that's NINE MONTHS)
*Go to USF, live with my parents...and save hella money...but perhaps go insane
*The only school I'm still really holding out for is Davis...please take me! Keep your fingers crossed for me, peoples!

Eeeeek!
